The Sky Bruises Easily

In this chapbook, I am exploring memories filtered by depression. I hope to challenge notions of "wild" and "wellness" while exploring pockets of habitat, whether domestic and exterior to the home environment. My goal is to expand conversations around mental health.

  • Right now, the chapbook title is still in the works. This is my first collection of poetry in the works, and one I hope to self-publish as a zine by fall of 2021, or submit to small presses. Once the project is complete, I would love to share my work with you! Collectively, these poems grapple with my experience and familial history with mental illness, and the struggle for a firm sense of place in a quickly changing world. I hope to offer a bit of solace to readers, with this idea that it is okay to hold despair deep in your bones, while also refusing to let it consume you or pursue a more just and healthier world. I hope this collection can be one small piece of the puzzle that helps others feels less alone.
