Am Ocean Feature Film

Am Ocean is currently in pre-production.  It is the story of the entangled relationship between the ocean and a young Irish woman whose livelihood depends on it. Faced with its collapse, she challenges our complacency, asking, is this a time of revolution or radical evolution?

  • AM OCEAN is the second film in a cycle. In 2011 sister and brother team Jennifer and Jonathan Corcoran created Circeo Films with the aim to independently produce a cycle of dramatic feature films that explores our feminine nature. The first film, She Sings to the Stars, written and directed by Jennifer Corcoran, is set in the American South-West. "The endless desert. A Native American grandmother lives alone tending her corn. Her half-Mexican grandson and a white, aging magician are stranded. No water. A river of stars. Everything changes: anything is possible." After winning multiple awards, it continues to receive international distribution, and is also available on Amazon Prime as well as in DVD format. The second film, AM OCEAN, set in rural Ireland, is a collaboration between Jennifer Corcoran and her daughter Athena Corcoran-Tadd. Water is again central to this film, this time focusing on our relationship with our environment, particularly the ocean, and the dilemma facing a generation which will determine so much about our future. Together mother and daughter have written the script and will work in tandem through the pre-production, filming and post-production. Athena will also be involved in creating the soundworld of the film.
