nicole gervacio is a descendant of Ilokano & Bisayan peoples from the archipelago known as the philippines. her parents, titas, titos, & grandparents immigrated in waves, and as a first-generation pilipinx in the diaspora, has found home on Lisjan Ohlone land, Huchiun, also known as Oakland, California. nicole gervacio is an artist who moves and creates with ancestors & future generations. from visual art to movement, video to written word, their work is inspired by the body, memory, destruction & deterioration, permanence versus impermanence and is driven by the fear of forgetting.
