While my passion is poetry and writing, I do work full time for a non-profit community organization in my home county that directly assists families in need. We work with families experiencing food insecurity, low income, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse & addiction, teen pregnancy, and foster/legal guardianship situations to offer nutrition, pregnancy, and breastfeeding education and support as well as food benefits. Since social justice is important to me, I also incorporate it into literary events I organize such as poetry readings featuring speakers and poets who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, speakers of disability rights & justice, advocates for immigrants in detention centers, and more.
