Amala Lane

I live in Ithaca, New York with beautiful waterfalls within walking distance all around and I make my living as a conference organizer and media producer at Cornell. A few years ago after the 2016 election here, I completed a year-long photographic and video exploration of a stand of Linden trees in northern Manhattan and created a multimedia installation called, 'LookUP! Visions from Under the Canopy.' It showed the under canopy of these trees through four seasons accompanied by a meditative soundtrack and was projected on a screen suspended parallel to the ceiling such that one had to lay down or bend back to view it. I want to continue exploring that project all about trees and what they have to teach us.
