Paper and college arts have been something I’ve loved doing for two decades now. As I’ve started taking printmaking and other visual arts classes recently I’m inspired to deepen my mixed media art.

Personal Statement

I first started collecting images for collage from my parents gigantic National Geographic collection. The other magazines that where readily available to me where Vague and Rolling Stone. My early work was centered around the colliding of images from western centric pop culture with images of poverty, beauty, nature and indigenous peoples. I started first collecting images for college from my parents gigantic National Geographic magazine collection. The other magazines that were most readily available to me where Vague ad Rolling Stone. My early work was centered around the colliding of imagery of western-centric pop culture with global poverty, beauty, nature and indigenous peoples. As my expression developed it became apparent that images would remain an expression in my work but that I would also have a lifelong love for the paper arts. I started collecting beautiful Japanese decorative papers as well as many other unique papers I would come across. Currently, I’m inspired to start creating with regularity as I try to figure out space where my art can be messy. One next step is to dive into acoustic art. I’m really excited about embedding images onto wax as well as building layers of wax that can be textured. More showcases to come soon <3
